Hi, my dad, uncles, aunts, etc probably knew Jakob Tritthart from Muhlbach in the 1929 map. I visited the village (now Ukraine) in 1996; came across people who remembered there were Scheibs living there in the past.

On the map, my grandfather is Adolf Scheib. I'm also related to the Utzigs. And also Ludwig Wagner (wound up in Murnau, Germany) always remained a family friend and eventually married my dad's sister after they were both widowed...and lived in Zielona Gora, Poland. My dad was in Zielona Gora, before eventually making his way out to Miami Beach,Fl where he still lives. Interesting that Jakob Tritthart (if the same one) is in Sarasota, Fl.

Can I get some guidance on how the Muhlbach roots were traced and how to go backwards from there?
I would also be interested in the relationship Tritthardt's had with Scheibs in Muhlbach if anyone knows. Thanks

oh hey just one more thing to add i suppose. that my father is Kenneth Tritthart, grandfather bill Tritthart(Joyce Knowles) and great grandfather, George Tritthart. also i have the two brothers Drew and Braden Tritthart. if you need any more names regarding that part of the family tree (cousins for example) i'd be more than glad to help you in that aspect. thanks again

I am the grandson of Jacob Tritthardt who was married to Elizabeth Pfeiffer first and then to my grandma Elizabeth Laigh (Lay). They came over to the USA on the Barbarossa on Mar 14, 1913. He brought 6 children with him. I would like more information on his first wife and who he knew in the USA when he came here.

I like to come back time and time again just to enjoy your family enjoying yourselves! My cousins are the Lachendorf Trittharts. Philip married Hermine Pfeifer and Hermine was a younger half-sister of my Grandfather, Wilhelm Pfeifer, late of Inkster Blvd, Winnipeg, Manitoba. I hope your Spring 2008 Reunion is a tremendous success!! Hello, to my opinion this is a well-done site, because I do ancestry research for a long time. It's of double interest for me as my grandgrandfather was Jakob Görz, my grandmother's maiden name was Unterschütz, and a sister of my grandmother was married Jethon.

One question. I can't find Brigidau on the map. How is this town called today?
Please give me an answer as soon as possible.

Answer: Brigidau is called Laniwka today, located about 50 miles south of L'viv (or: Lvov, former: Lemberg) on the way from Styj to Drohobic.

So nice to find your site! I received my limited "Knebel" info from my grandmother, Kathleen Avis. She remembered Andreas Knebel (Andrew) and Suzanna Hennig, and remembered the Tritthart name, but not much more. She threw Jacobanni Bukovina out as their place of origin, but didn't know how to spell it, and her pronounciation of it was a little off.
By the way, Henry Knebel was actually born Heinrich (no middle name) Knebel. dob December, 21 1908. Died November 1982. He americanized Heinrich to Henry. He and Kathleen married on May 6 1932. Kathleen was actually a name my grandmother chose when moving to the U.S. from Powell river, Canada, when she was 16. She was born Phyllis Robertson, May 6 1911,Onterio Canada. As she was illeagitimate, she took her step-fathers last name and changed her first at the same time. That was some real hard information to get from her. I was the only one in the family who knew she changed her name, and that her real father was Thomas Jenks. My Gramma found out that I had talked to my Aunts and Uncles about it, thinking they knew. She would've paddled my rear if she could have!
Sorry to ramble on so... memories come flooding back.

Hallo, ich bin froh über diese Seite gestolpert zu sein und hier evtl. mehr über unseren Familienstann der treuthardt zu erfahren. Mein Großvater Erwin T. stammt aus Soldin in der Neumark (heute Polen) und mein Vater ist auch dort geboren. Er lebt heute in Bremen, wo er aufgewachsen ist. Ich bin inzwischen in Hamburg gelandet. Vielleicht gibt es ja mal Kontakt in die Schweiz, dort war ich nur als Kind einmal... immer hin ist Zweisimmen ja Ursprung dieser doch anscheinend so großen und weit verbreiteten Familie. This website is such a good idea, my husband is a only child and both of his parents are deceased, Oscar and Frances Trithart. Nolan, and our children would find this a great resource to keep in touch with everyone. We have three boys Tyler now deceased 1984-2001, and Cody and Brendan. habe gerade die easyjet homepage bewundert - und bin fassungslos über soviel ignoranz. bin selbst für das unternehmen tätig und habe mir auch schon einige vergleichbare klagen (aus erster hand sozusagen)anhören müssen. My grandmother, Elizabeth Schneeberger, was born on February 10,1879 & baptised February 21, 1879 at the Evangelican Church in Brigidau. The Pastor was Paul Koxdonke.Her father was Franz Schneeberger the son of Jacob Schneeberger & Magdalena Schreyer. Danke für die informative Seite...ich bin stolz auf meinem Nachname.Es sind übrigens einige Treuthardt in der französichen Schweiz ansässig - insbesondere im Neuenburger Jura - an zu treffen, einige aber auch in Lausanne und Waadtland. Ich selber wurde im NE Jura geboren und bin auch dort aufgewachsen..Was mich stört, ist dass mein Nachname hier in der deutschsprechende CH oft als TREUHART ausgesprochen wird. Der Name ist scheinbar ungewöhnlich. Salutations.

Antwort: Der größte Teil des damaligen Bessarabien entspricht der heutigen Republik Moldawien, zwischen Rumänien und Ukraine gelegen. Der Rest gehört inzwischen zur Ukraine.

Die Firmenpolitik von EasyJet bei der Erstattung annulierter Flüge scheint wohl wirklich kein Einzelfall zu sein [siehe "Erfahrungen mit Easyjet"]. Mein Flug wurde auch storniert. Bei der Hotline erreiche ich zu jeder Wochen- und Tageszeit niemanden. Als Antwort auf das Erstattungs-Formular auf der Homepage von Easyjet bekam ich lediglich eine leere eMail (ohne Text; ohne Inhalt). Sehr schade zu sehen, dass hier der Verbraucherschutz nicht gleich zu taten schreitet...

Hallo, kann mir jemand sagen, ob und wann ein Treuthardt (mein Urgroßvater) nach Soldin (Neumark) gezogen ist. Es sollte ca. um 1900 oder früher gewesen sein. Es könnte sein, dass er aus Bern stammt. Leider ist über diesen Vorfahr nicht in der familie mehr bekannt. ich weiß nur noch, dass mein Großvater Erwin Treuthardt in Sioldin Gärtner auf einem Gut war und in russischer Gefangenschaft gestorben ist. Soldat war er damals nicht (mehr).

Ich bin zu faul das Ding runterzuladen, aber die Endung .mpg läßt nicht gerade auf einen AVI-Container schließen. Und mpeg-4 in .mpg? Wirst es doch nicht umbenannt haben? Den Microsoft Media Player vorzuschlagen ist auch nicht so das Wahre, oder? Einfach nur Media Player geht noch, kann ja auch der Classic sein ;) Aber der von Microsoft, naja. Gut, wenn man natürlich auch irgendeinen Microsoft-mpeg-4 Codec benutzt hat, dann bedingt vielleicht eins das andere. Wie wär's mal mit Xvid und nem netten Open Source-Player? Das kann man gleich mit auf der Seite anbieten ... Ich finde, das macht einen viel besseren Eindruck, als ein Video, das jemand mit den Windows-Codecs enkodiert hat und dazu den Windo** Media Player empfiehlt.

Hallo,
ich möchte ein schönen Gruß nach Strymbeni schicken. Meine Opa Rudolf Dawidowsky und meine Oma Luise geb. Jethon kommen nämlich daher. Leider sind beide schon verstorben und auch vorher haben die beiden nicht viel von früher erzählt. Vieleicht weiß jemand von euch etwas darüber, oder vieleicht kennt sogar jemand meine Großeltern. Beide sind so um 1914 geboren. Ich würde mich über ein paar Info´s sehr freuen !!

My great-grandfather was Friedrich Christian Treuthardt, who was born 28 Mar 1834 in Zweisimmen, the son of Jacob Treuthardt and Margaritha Zum Stein. Friedrich and his wife Anna Geiser and 3 children emigrated to America and directly to Texas 12 Sept 1883. They settled at Williamson County, Texas, in the area of Georgetown at the San Gabriel River. In Texas his eldest son Wilhelm married Louise Ischy, a French-speaking Swiss immigrant. His daughter Ida Treuthardt married Gottlieb Krieg, also a Swiss immigrant from New Bern, Texas (they were my grandparents). His son Arnold married Louise Bouffard, also a French-speaking Swiss immigrant. I have been researching Friedrich's life for several years, as well as meeting his descendants here in Texas. Only recently have we begun to discover who our ancestors were in Switzerland. I feel certain we can make a connection with your family someday.

bin im Internet auf deine Seite aufmerksam geworden, weil ich Beiträge zum Familientreffen suche. Wir machen jetzt im Juni unser 1. Treffen. Ich kann mich erinnern, als Kind fanden solche Treffen einmal im Jahr statt, aber dann ist es eingeschlafen. Deswegen finde ich es toll, dass ihr das schon so lange pflegt.
Deine Seite ist super. Ach ja, wie ich sehe bist du aus Nürnberg, ich bin auch gebürtig aus Nürnberg und unser Treffen findet dort auch statt.

zunächst einmal möchte ich Ihnen zu dieser sehr schönen Homepage gratulieren.
Ich bin auf der Suche nach Bessaraber-Deutschen und Informationen zu Bessarabien auf die Seite aufmerksam geworden. Meine Mutter stammt aus Bessarabien. Ich wollte mir Daten zu Treffen der Bessaraber einholen - bisher leider ohne Erfolg.
Trotzdem war es eine Freude, hier bei Ihnen rein zu schauen.

It is nice to see the history of the family name. I am a decent of Barbara Trithardt and August Heinemann, my Grandfather being John Heineman(spelt with one N). This is my first time visiting the web site, it is great! Thanks to Peter for all his hard work. I am a descendant of Jakob Tritthardt (Tritthart) who was originally married to Elizabeth Pfeifer, they had 5 children. Elisabeth died after giving birth to twins. Jakob came to the US with his new wife and most of the children. His new wife (Elizabeth Ley, Laigh, spelling now known for sure) and he had another 5 children. My father Valetine is from the second family.

Hello Peter and everyone else. I just wanted to make the happy announcement of a new Tritthart in the world! My wife Shantel gave birth to our first child on Jan. 10 2003. His name is Jake Edmond Tritthart. Both mother and child are doing very well. It is amazing how fast he is growing and changing. We are loving every minute of it. I enjoy the tritthart.net very much and I appreciate the hard work you are putting into it. Keep up the good work and I will send new photos of Jake soon.

My brother Charles Tritthart gave me the website.
I thought I would drop a line with some information on me and my family. My wife Sue have two daughters, Carrie and
Cassie.
Carrie is married, husband Brad Satterwhite. The two boys are Trueman, 5 years old and Jessie 20 months old.
Sue, Cassie and I were over in Vienna, Austria, July 1996, I had a boys soccer team that I coached that came over to
soccer tournment. Cassie played with a girls team at the same tournment.
We got to meet Fritz Tritthart while we were there. He was a great host. We enjoyed the trip.

I was down in Oklahoma City first of the week. I visited my brother Charles Tritthart in Edmond, Oklahoma.
He gave me the Tritthart website. This is a good idea.
My wife, Sue and one of my daughter's, Cassie, was over in Austria back in July of 1996 with a boys soccer
from Oklahoma and played in a tournment. We got to visit with Fritz Tritthart, he was our tour guide. We had
a good time.
I have other daughter, Carrie, she is married and has two sons, Trueman and Jessie. The boys are 5 and 20 months old.
My daughter Cassie is a sophmore in college this fall at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
I hope to hear from some of the other relatives. It would be good to get to know them.
I will close for now.
